Live and Local
30 September - 01 October 2008, Rendezvous Hotel & Conference Centre, Skipton
Region: Yorkshire and the Humber
Event topic: non ICT Hub event
Local food, local energy, local services, local transport, local housing, local work, local everything.
We have yet to fully appreciate the structural changes we'll need to embrace if we are to stand any chance at all of meeting the challenges of the coming century. Change means opportunity. ruralnet|2008 will bring these opportunities alive for you. If there’s one word that sums up these opportunities it’s 'local'. Local is good news for rural areas.
We have developed a programme of plenary sessions we think are essential to stimulate and motivate. We are offering a choice of workshops exploring in more detail the opportunities that 'local' can present. The highly interactive and stimulating programme also features plenty of that very valuable networking time, before and during the conference and we will 'live-blogging' the highlights of the event online.
Working in partnership with Yorkshire Forward, we are delighted to be bringing the conference to the North Yorkshire market town of Skipton. We are running the event back-to-back with the Action for Market Towns annual convention. Whilst each event will retain its own distinctiveness, this exciting opportunity will be something quite unique and innovative in the sector, giving a taste of what can be achieved through collaboration.
ruralnet|2008 is the rural regeneration event of the year. I hope you can join us, and if you can, please book your place quickly as we are limiting numbers strictly to 180 this year.
